A global pharmaceutical company is seeking a Global Medical Lead (GML) to join its Global Medical Affairs (GMA) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the growth of newly added treatments within the neurology portfolio. Based at the company's headquarters in Germany, the GML will hold full responsibility for all medical affairs activities related to these treatments and contribute to their success across more than 80 countries. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of global medical strategies and tactics aligned with business objectives

  • Supervise a Global Medical Expert to ensure alignment with medical and organizational goals

  • Provide medical leadership within a matrix organization and lead the Global Medical Product Team

  • Drive congress strategies and organize high-quality scientific meetings and advisory boards

  • Develop and implement global evidence generation plans, including Phase IV and real-world evidence studies

  • Oversee global Investigator-Initiated Trial (IIT) strategy, including proposal review and approval

  • Lead the global product publication plan, including review and approval of scientific manuscripts

  • Continuously gather medical insights and adapt strategy accordingly

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with key external experts, serving as a trusted partner

  • Lead global patient advocacy initiatives and develop partnerships with advocacy groups and academic institutions

  • Provide medical review for promotional and non-promotional global materials

  • Ensure compliance with all internal guidelines, SOPs, and regulatory standards

 

Candidate Profile

  • MD or PhD required

  • Minimum of 5–6 years of medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a global role within neuroscience

  • Proven ability to interpret scientific data and communicate it clearly to various stakeholders

  • Experience in developing and reviewing clinical and scientific documentation

  • Strong intercultural competence and ability to work in diverse global teams

  • Proactive, goal-oriented team player with high reliability

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% internationally

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

  • Based in Germany
