Analytical scientist

We’re working with an innovative organisation in the chemicals sector looking to bring in an Analytical Scientist to join their growing laboratory team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to take real ownership of their work while developing strong technical expertise in a supportive environment.

In this role, you’ll have the autonomy to plan and carry out your own analytical testing, while also contributing to wider technical projects and collaborating with both internal teams and external customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading your own laboratory testing activities from planning through to execution
• Using analytical techniques to solve real-world customer and product challenges
• Working closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality, and operations
• Supporting and contributing to technical projects and method development
• Engaging with customers to understand and resolve technical queries
• Maintaining accurate data within LIMS systems
• Ensuring high laboratory standards, safety, and compliance at all times

Your Technical Exposure

You’ll gain hands-on experience with a range of analytical instrumentation, including:

• HPLC
• GC / GC-MS
• FT-IR
• GPC

You’ll also be involved in equipment maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives within the lab.

 What We’re Looking For

• Around 1+ year of experience in an analytical laboratory environment
• Strong hands-on experience with chromatography (HPLC, GC, or GC-MS)
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong organisational skills
• Someone who enjoys problem-solving and working collaboratively
• Good communication skills and confidence engaging with different stakeholders
