Associate Principal Scientist – In Vivo Pharmacology (Kidney Disease)

Join a well-established, contract drug discovery organisation as they expand their In Vivo Pharmacology team. With no competing internal programmes, this is a chance to shape science that matters, working directly with biotech and pharma clients to move novel therapeutics towards the clinic.
We're looking for an Associate Principal Scientist with expertise in kidney disease (inflammation experience a bonus) to take on scientific leadership across complex, client-sponsored drug discovery programmes.
The Role
- Lead the design, execution and interpretation of in vivo pharmacology studies within kidney disease and related inflammation programmes
- Act as Project Lead, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, timely outcomes for client projects
- Provide scientific leadership and technical expertise, shaping experimental strategy and solving complex research challenges
- Drive innovation, introducing novel experimental approaches and technologies
- Work closely with internal teams and external clients on study design, data interpretation and scientific discussion
- Support and mentor team members, with line management responsibilities potentially forming part of the role
About You
- PhD with industry or postdoctoral drug discovery experience — or a BSc/MSc with substantial industry drug discovery experience
- Strong expertise in kidney disease and/or inflammation
- Proven track record applying in vivo pharmacology models in drug discovery; ex vivo assay experience highly desirable
- Solid understanding of UK regulations governing in vivo research
- Demonstrated experience in study design, oversight and data interpretation
- Strong project management skills and confident client-facing communication
