Senior Clinical Pharmacologist

Barrington James is partnering with a leading biopharmaceutical organization to find a highly skilled Senior Clinical Pharmacologist for an exciting permanent opportunity. We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Clinical Pharmacology Manager to build and grow Clinical Pharmacology capabilities as we advance an innovative portfolio of small-molecule therapies. You will serve as a key individual contributor guiding programs from early translational development through clinical proof of concept, with the opportunity to progressively take on broader leadership responsibilities as the company and pipeline expand.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as primary Clinical Pharmacology lead for clinical assets with strong personal involvement in analyses, modelling, and study design

• Provide hands-on support for protocol development, clinical pharmacology study designs, and interpretation of PK/PD and biomarker data

• Independently perform and/or oversee population PK/PD, PBPK, and quantitative analyses to support dose justification and risk assessment

• Integrate nonclinical, translational, biomarker, and clinical data to support modelling strategies and regulatory-ready outputs

• Shape strategy for organ-restricted therapeutic approaches and late-stage development ambitions

• Support selection, oversight, and scientific direction of CROs and external consultants

• Contribute directly to clinical pharmacology sections of INDs, IBs, protocols, briefing documents, and regulatory responses

• Stay current with advances in translational pharmacology, organ-targeted drug delivery, and quantitative modelling

• Gradually assume broader strategic and leadership responsibilities as function matures

Essential Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field

• 10+ years experience in Clinical Pharmacology within biotech or pharma

• Deep expertise in PK/PD, population modelling (PopPK), PBPK, dose optimization, and quantitative pharmacology

• Hands-on experience with modelling software (NONMEM, Monolix, Phoenix WinNonlin, or similar)

• Proven track record supporting IND submissions and regulatory interactions

• Experience integrating nonclinical and clinical data for translational strategies

Desirable Experience

• Hands-on experience supporting or developing targeted pharmacology strategies

• Background in early-phase clinical development (FIH, dose escalation, PoC)

• Familiarity with biomarker-driven development and translational medicine

• Previous VP/Head of Clinical Pharmacology reporting relationship
