Consultant Haematopathologist

Barrington James is partnering with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Consultant Haematopathologist to join a high-performing and collaborative diagnostic team. This is a specialist role focused on delivering expert haematopathology services while contributing to cutting-edge work in molecular diagnostics, biomarker discovery, and translational research.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert diagnostic reporting in haematopathology, including bone marrow, lymph node, and peripheral blood specimens
Integrate morphology with immunophenotyping, cytogenetics, and molecular findings to deliver comprehensive diagnoses
Contribute to the development and implementation of advanced diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including haematologists, oncologists, and research scientists
Support and lead involvement in clinical trials, including diagnostic input and translational components
Contribute to academic output, including publications, presentations, and service development initiatives
Qualifications:
- Primary medical degree (MB BCh or equivalent)
- Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC (or eligibility)
- Completion of specialist training in histopathology with subspecialisation in haematopathology (CCT or equivalent)
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath or equivalent)
Experience:
- Extensive diagnostic experience in haematopathology, including lymphoid and myeloid disorders
- Strong expertise in integrating molecular and cytogenetic data into diagnostic workflows
- Experience working within clinical trial or translational research environments
- Demonstrated track record in research, audit, and peer-reviewed publications
