Overview

This position is accountable for shaping and executing both short- and long-term strategic plans for the company’s advanced cardiac therapy business in the assigned market. The role focuses on driving adoption and growth of established and emerging mechanical circulatory support therapies, along with related innovative heart failure technologies.

Key market development responsibilities include building hospital therapy programs, raising clinical awareness, optimizing patient identification and referral pathways, executing targeted marketing initiatives, managing strategic accounts, supporting reimbursement efforts, and delivering clinical and educational guidance to accelerate sustainable growth of the company’s advanced heart failure portfolio.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with health economics, reimbursement, and government affairs teams to design and roll out effective therapy access and reimbursement strategies.
  • Analyze and map the potential patient population for advanced heart failure therapies across the market. Collaborate with implanting centers to establish referral networks and patient channeling processes.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to identify customer challenges and co-create tailored therapy and program solutions.
  • Create and execute account-specific growth plans aimed at increasing procedure volumes and market penetration.
  • Lead business development initiatives and strategic projects in close alignment with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and regional stakeholders to deliver business objectives.
  • Collaborate with complementary business units (e.g., rhythm management and structural heart) to ensure seamless integration of the advanced heart failure strategy within priority accounts.
  • Drive therapy awareness through internal and external initiatives.
  • Implement marketing programs and campaigns to accelerate adoption.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and support to therapy access specialists to ensure effective execution of field plans.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key customers.
  • Own national and account-level forecasting for products and revenue, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours may be required for training, team meetings, customer events, conferences, or trade shows (including occasional evenings and weekends).

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, engaged team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales and profitability targets within a complex, solution-oriented medical sales environment.
  • 10–15 years of progressive sales experience in medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven background in launching and developing new therapies or technologies in emerging markets.
  • Strong track record in sales, key account management, and physician education/training on new technologies, procedures, and patient management.
  • Experience managing people and/or distributor networks.
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
