Director, Real-World Evidence (RWE) Scientist — Oncology

About the Role

We're looking for a true epidemiologist with deep RWE expertise who can move fluidly between strategy and hands-on execution, leading evidence generation for rare tumour assets end to end, from designing non-interventional studies (NIS) through to regulatory-facing evidence packages. This is not a pure strategy role, and it's not a pure execution role: you'll need to want, and be capable of, both.

What You'll Do

• Lead RWE strategy and end-to-end execution for rare tumour assets
• Design and scope non-interventional studies (NIS), including defining the right endpoints and evidence questions
• Own external control arm strategy and evidence generation
• Source, evaluate and select vendors to support studies
• Lead regulatory-facing interactions and evidence generation — this role interfaces with regulatory and clinical development, not payers
• Present project strategy directly to the project strategy team and to global product team leaders and product heads
• Translate complex, methodological RWE concepts into clear, digestible input for cross-functional stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with adjacent quantitative functions — clinical measurable sciences, data science, and the broader patient-focused evidence team — in a highly collaborative, flat-structured environment

What You'll Bring

• A genuine epidemiology background with strong real-world evidence (RWE) expertise
• Experience in non-interventional study (NIS) design, external control arms, evidence generation, and regulatory science
• Oncology or rare disease experience is essential
• A demonstrated ability — and desire — to operate across both strategic and hands-on/execution work; candidates seeking a purely strategic remit, or who are only comfortable executing without strategic input, won't be the right fit
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify methodologically dense material for varied audiences
• Comfort working directly with senior product and clinical development stakeholders
