Drug Safety Physician

Freelance Drug Safety Physician — Interim/Contract (Europe, remote)

A growing European biotech with a clinical-stage pipeline is seeking an experienced Drug Safety Physician on a freelance/interim basis to provide medical safety oversight as its programmes progress through the clinic.

This is a contract engagement — immediate start, full-time, remote across Europe.

What the role involves:

• Medical review of individual case safety reports (ICSRs) and oversight of case-level safety data
• Signal detection, evaluation and benefit-risk assessment across the portfolio
• Medical input into aggregate reports (DSURs, PBRERs/PSURs) and risk management plans
• Supporting safety governance and clinical safety strategy as assets move through development

What we're looking for:

• Medically qualified (MD or equivalent) with pharmacovigilance experience in industry, biotech or CRO
• Strong grounding in signal management and benefit-risk methodology
• Comfortable operating independently and at pace in a lean safety function
• EU/EEA-based or EU-working; QPPV experience a plus, not essential
