Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Medical Education leads the strategy, planning, and delivery of medical education initiatives across Japan for an international healthcare organization. The role translates business priorities into high-quality educational programs that support the safe and effective adoption of medical technologies. This position collaborates closely with regional and global stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant, and impactful learning experiences. The role allows for remote work within Japan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the medical education strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Design, plan, and deliver educational programs for healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and trainees.

  • Establish learning objectives, course content, agendas, and participant profiles.

  • Partner with local marketing, international teams, faculty, and professional societies to assess learning needs and deliver effective programs.

  • Drive innovation through blended and digital learning solutions and manage local e-learning content contributions.

  • Measure program effectiveness using KPIs, surveys, and participant feedback; prepare regular performance reports.

  • Ensure compliance with global and local regulatory, ethical, and governance standards.

  • Manage budgets for medical education activities.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a business or healthcare-related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in medical education or marketing management within the healthcare or medical device industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing small teams.

  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously with a proactive and adaptable mindset.

Additional Information

  • Native-level Japanese language proficiency required; business-level English proficiency preferred.

  • Approximately 20–30% travel within Japan.

  • Remote work arrangement available within Japan.

  • Experience working in international and multicultural environments is desirable.
