In Vivo Team Lead

A growing biotechnology company is looking for an experienced In Vivo Research Manager to lead and develop its preclinical in vivo research team in France.
This is a key leadership position for someone with strong in vivo expertise and proven experience managing, mentoring and growing scientific teams within a biotech environment.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and development of the in vivo research team, ensuring high-quality scientific delivery while helping to build and expand the function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, manage and develop a team of in vivo scientists.
- Provide scientific and technical guidance across preclinical in vivo programmes.
- Train, mentor and support team members in their scientific development.
- Recruit and onboard new team members as the function grows.
- Oversee the planning, execution and interpretation of in vivo studies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support preclinical programmes.
- Develop and improve protocols, processes and ways of working.
- Ensure studies are delivered to high scientific, regulatory and welfare standards.
- Help shape the future strategy and growth of the in vivo research function.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing and scientifically driven team culture.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in preclinical in vivo research within a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
- Proven experience managing and developing an in vivo or preclinical team.
- Demonstrable experience training, mentoring and developing scientists.
- Experience building or growing a scientific team or function.
- Strong understanding of in vivo study design, execution and data interpretation.
- Experience working within a fast-paced biotech environment.
- Ability to combine strategic leadership with strong scientific understanding.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working within regulated preclinical research environments.
