Interim Pharmacovigilance Director — Remote, Europe

Contract · Remote (EU-based) · Competitive Hourly Rate · 6-month initial engagement, likely to extend · Immediate start

A biotech is looking for a seasoned Pharmacovigilance Director to lead its safety function on an interim basis during a period of growth. A senior, hands-on leadership role owning the PV system end to end, interim cover, working ahead of a permanent appointment.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the pharmacovigilance function and owning the PV system and its operating model
• Acting as the senior point of accountability for the safety of the [marketed and/or development] portfolio
• Overseeing signal management, benefit-risk and aggregate reporting to the required standard
• Owning the PV System Master File, SDEAs and vendor/partner oversight
• Driving inspection and audit readiness, and leading any CAPA through to closure
• Interfacing with the QPPV office, regulators (EMA/national/MHRA) and cross-functional leadership
• Providing safety leadership through [launch / M&A integration / affiliate build-out — delete as applicable]

What we're looking for

• Extensive pharmacovigilance experience (7+ years), with a track record in senior PV leadership roles.
• Proven ownership of a PV system across MAHs.
• Strong command of EU GVP, the global regulatory framework and inspection expectations
• Demonstrable experience of building, scaling or remediating a PV function
• QPPV or Deputy QPPV experience [desirable]
• Based in the EU/EEA and able to work remotely; fluent English

Desirable

• Experience in rare disease and oncology.
• Track record leading through inspections and delivering CAPA's
• Experience of M&A safety integration or interim leadership assignments.
