Position Overview
The Marketing Operation & Omnichannel Manager leads the strategic design, operational execution, and optimization of digital engagement frameworks across the Japanese market.
Working at the intersection of brand marketing, commercial excellence, and global technology, this role is responsible for driving customer-centric digital campaigns through multi-touchpoint journeys. The position serves as a internal consultant to brand leaders—particularly within specialized therapeutic areas like Oncology—guiding the adoption of marketing automation tools, aligning regional digital strategy with global frameworks, and evaluating campaign effectiveness through data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Omnichannel Campaign Operations & Execution

Framework Implementation: Drive the rollout of global customer experience (CX) campaign frameworks within Japan, establishing localized operation workflows and toolkits.

Platform Consulting: Advise brand teams on how to effectively integrate marketing automation platforms and CRM ecosystems (such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Veeva) into launch strategies and promotional campaigns.

Cross-Functional Execution: Coordinate campaign delivery across local brand management, creative agencies, and offshore global service hubs.

Performance & Analytics: Lead content tagging structures, KPI framework design, and performance tracking metrics to measure campaign impact and return on investment.
Strategic Planning & Digital Excellence

Channel Roadmap: Formulate comprehensive digital channel strategies aligned with local commercial goals and global brand direction.

Industry Benchmarking: Conduct continuous research on market trends, competitor activities, and cross-affiliate case studies to introduce best-in-class omnichannel practices.
Project Leadership & Operational Management

Stakeholder Alignment: Design and facilitate alignment workshops and training sessions for local, regional, and global commercial stakeholders.

Vendor & Service Management: Oversee external agency partners and offshore support teams to ensure high-quality, timely project deliverables.

Financial Management: Direct the team's operational expenditure (OpEx) budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Experience & Education

Industry Background: Minimum of 3 years of digital marketing, Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE), or commercial excellence experience within the pharmaceutical industry in Japan.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.

Technical Aptitude: Core working knowledge or certifications in digital marketing automation platforms, system integrations, data workflows, and vendor management.
Key Competencies & Skills

MarTech Capabilities: Strong practical understanding of major enterprise CRM and digital marketing platforms (e.g., Veeva, SFMC, CMS).

Campaign Architecture: Hands-on experience designing end-to-end customer journey maps, tracking mechanisms, and measurement models.

Matrix Leadership: Proven ability to influence non-direct reports and collaborate effectively across matrixed, multi-cultural organizations.

Problem-Solving & Agility: Strong consultative problem-solving skills with a high degree of comfort managing ambiguity and multiple competing priorities.
