Role Overview

Reporting to: APAC Director

As the Business Manager for Japan, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth and market development for the neurovascular portfolio. This role requires close collaboration with distributor partners, strong clinical engagement, and the ability to deliver strategic insights to regional and global stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop and execute sales strategies in partnership with distributor networks to accelerate market penetration
  • Lead product launches and drive adoption of innovative neurovascular technologies
  • Own revenue targets and manage overall business performance metrics

Distributor Partnership Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor sales teams
  • Provide strategic direction, training, and ongoing support to enhance distributor performance
  • Collaborate on promotional campaigns and sales initiatives to achieve growth objectives

Market Intelligence & Product Strategy

  • Conduct market research on neuroendovascular trends, competitive landscape, and unmet clinical needs
  • Identify product opportunities aligned with the Japanese market
  • Share insights with global headquarters to inform product development strategy
  • Monitor regulatory developments and reimbursement changes impacting the business

Clinical Engagement

  • Provide clinical support and technical expertise to physicians during procedures, as needed
  • Represent the organization at major conferences and industry events
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and strengthen brand presence through customer engagement

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in medical device sales
  • Minimum 5+ years in neurovascular or endovascular devices
  • Proven success managing distributor relationships and driving sales through indirect channels
  • Strong understanding of Japan’s neurovascular market, including PMDA regulatory pathways and reimbursement systems
  • Demonstrated clinical credibility with physicians
  • Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC 600+ or equivalent)

Education & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience transitioning from Clinical Specialist roles into commercial leadership is highly valued
  • Product Management or Marketing experience in the neurovascular field is a plus
