Position Summary

The Operations Director serves as the Head of Operations for a top orthopedic medical device manufacturer, providing strategic and operational leadership across the entire organization. This role is responsible for end-to-end operational excellence, including supply chain, logistics, inventory management, customer service, demand planning, distribution, quality systems interface, and process optimization.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Operations Director ensures operational scalability, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and service reliability to support commercial growth and deliver exceptional value to customers and patients.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall operations strategy aligned with corporate and commercial objectives.

  • Serve as a core member of the executive leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy and decision-making.

  • Lead organizational design and capability building within the operations function.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and service levels.

2. Supply Chain & Logistics Management

  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, forecasting, demand planning, warehousing, and distribution.

  • Ensure timely and compliant import/export processes in coordination with global supply chain partners.

  • Optimize inventory levels to balance service performance and working capital efficiency.

  • Establish KPIs to monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

3. Customer Operations & Service Excellence

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective order management, fulfillment accuracy, and responsive service operations.

  • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to support product launches, promotional activities, and demand surges.

  • Implement service standards and systems to ensure consistent operational execution nationwide.

4. Quality & Compliance Collaboration

  • Work in close collaboration with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with local and global medical device regulations.

  • Support audits and inspections, ensuring operational readiness at all times.

  • Maintain robust documentation, SOPs, and internal control systems in line with industry standards.

5. Financial & Performance Management

  • Develop and manage the operations budget, including cost control and productivity initiatives.

  • Identify and execute cost optimization strategies without compromising quality or compliance.

  • Monitor and report operational metrics to senior leadership and global stakeholders.

6. Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team across multiple functional areas.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure succession planning and talent pipeline development within the function.
