Principal CNS Safety Pharmacologist

We are looking for a highly experienced Principal CNS Safety Pharmacologist to join our team in Planegg, at the heart of the Munich biotech cluster. This is a strategic, senior-level role for a scientist with deep expertise in central nervous system (CNS) safety and a strong track record of influencing drug development programs.
As a principal scientist, you will lead CNS safety pharmacology strategy across multiple programs, ensuring the highest scientific and regulatory standards while enabling confident decision-making from early discovery through clinical development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement CNS safety pharmacology strategies across a diverse pipeline
• Serve as the subject-matter expert in neurobehavioral, seizure liability, and functional CNS risk assessment
• Design, oversee, and interpret in vitro and in vivo CNS safety studies
• Integrate data from safety pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical findings to drive translational insights
• Contribute to regulatory documents and represent CNS safety in interactions with health authorities
• Lead scientific initiatives to advance novel models, biomarkers, and digital endpoints
• Mentor and guide scientists, influencing scientific direction and best practices

What you'll need: 

• PhD, PharmD, or equivalent in pharmacology, neuroscience, or a related discipline
• Extensive industry experience in CNS safety pharmacology
• Strong knowledge of global regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH S7A) and CNS-specific safety considerations
• Demonstrated leadership in complex, cross-functional drug development environments
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
