Technical Sales Applications Specialist -Diagnostics (Malaysia, KL-based)
We are partnering with a global diagnostics leader to hire a Technical Sales Applications Specialist based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a dynamic, field-based role supporting customers and distributors across Malaysia, with occasional regional travel.
About the Role
As part of the Commercial Technical Services team, you will be the technical expert on the ground - delivering high-quality support, driving customer satisfaction, and strengthening distributor capabilities. This role blends hands-on technical service, applications support, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and first-line service to customers
- Manage and complete service work orders in line with SOP and timelines
- Support installations, training, and ongoing system optimisation
- Act as the technical lead for distributors - coaching, guiding, and improving their troubleshooting capabilities
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve complex technical and quality issues
- Monitor distributor performance through regular engagement and field visits
- Prepare reports on service activity, performance, and regional updates
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience servicing and troubleshooting IVD equipment
- Exposure to Molecular Diagnostics or Immunohematology instruments is highly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Based in/around Kuala Lumpur, with flexibility to travel across Malaysia and occasionally regionally
