Scientist Lead – EEG
An expanding CRO is seeking a dedicated EEG Scientist to lead their EEG team and contribute to innovative translational drug discovery programs.
Role Overview
The EEG Scientist will work closely with the Senior Scientific Director to maintain, expand, and innovate EEG capabilities across preclinical studies. You will play a key role in study design, operational delivery, data analysis, and reporting while supporting the continuous development of EEG services across pharmacology, sleep, seizure liability, and disease-model research.
Key responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyse EEG studies in rodents
- Support development of new EEG methodologies, troubleshooting, and innovative approaches
- Contribute to expanding EEG services and capabilities across the organization
- Run pharmaco-EEG studies and manage day-to-day operational workflows
- Prepare study protocols, collect and analyse data, and generate high-quality reports
- Perform EEG data analysis using appropriate tools and pipelines
- Interpret results and ensure scientific validity in all outputs
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in meetings and contribute to harmonizing procedures and documentation
- Train and validate staff in EEG tools, techniques, and analysis pipelines
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for EEG hardware and software
What are we looking for?
- Degree in neuroscience, physiology, biomedical sciences, or related field
- Hands-on experience handling and dosing animals for EEG studies
- Familiarity with EEG hardware (e.g., DSI, EMKA, TaiNi)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Desirable attributes
- Experience with sleep, seizure, pharmacology, or disease-model EEG studies
- Knowledge of advanced EEG analysis techniques (coherence, phase-amplitude coupling)
- Agility to adapt to changing commercial and project requirements
This role offers the chance to lead and innovate in preclinical EEG research, working hands-on with cutting-edge models and technologies while directly impacting translational drug discovery in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
