An innovative and rapidly growing biotechnology organisation is seeking a Senior In Vivo Pharmacologist to join its preclinical research team in Paris. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of novel therapeutic programmes by designing and delivering high-quality in vivo pharmacology studies within a dynamic and collaborative scientific environment.

The Role

As a Senior In Vivo Pharmacologist, you will play a critical role in the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of preclinical studies supporting drug discovery and early development programmes. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help generate robust scientific data to drive key project decisions and accelerate the progression of innovative therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee in vivo pharmacology studies to evaluate efficacy, mechanism of action, and translational endpoints.
  • Analyse, interpret, and communicate study results to project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and optimise disease models and experimental methodologies to support research objectives.
  • Collaborate with biology, translational science, toxicology, biomarker, and discovery teams to advance therapeutic programmes.
  • Ensure studies are conducted in compliance with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Contribute to study protocols, technical reports, scientific presentations, and publications.
  • Identify scientific challenges and propose innovative solutions to support project progression.
  • Support external collaborations, CRO management, and scientific partnerships where required.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in pharmacology, drug discovery, and translational research.

What you’ll need:

  • A strong background in in vivo pharmacology gained within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, or academic research environments.
  • Extensive experience designing, conducting, and interpreting preclinical pharmacology studies.
  • Knowledge of translational research approaches and biomarker strategies.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary drug discovery teams.
  • Strong data analysis and scientific communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining scientific rigour and attention to detail.
  • Experience in immunology, oncology, inflammation, neuroscience, metabolic disease, or related therapeutic areas would be advantageous.
