Barrington James are partnering with a growing quantitative pharmacology and data science consultancy is expanding its Modelling & Simulation team and is seeking a talented (Senior) Modelling & Simulation Scientist to join its collaborative and scientifically driven environment. This organisation partners with biotech, pharma, and research institutes across Europe and North America, supporting programmes from early discovery through to clinical development. With a strong reputation in model-informed drug development, the team works across a broad range of therapeutic areas and modalities.

 

The Role

You will join a multidisciplinary Quantitative Pharmacology team delivering high-quality modelling and simulation solutions to external clients. The position offers the opportunity to both support and lead projects across different stages of development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and applying PK/PD, popPK, PBPK and/or QSP models
  • Conducting NCA and analysing preclinical and clinical datasets
  • Interpreting complex data to generate actionable insights for client decision-making
  • Researching disease biology and therapeutic mechanisms of action
  • Preparing technical reports and delivering presentations to clients
  • Supporting proposal development and contributing to new business discussions
  • Staying current with regulatory expectations and modelling best practice

Requirements

Essential:

  • PhD in a quantitative discipline involving mathematical/statistical modelling of biological or pharmacological systems
  • 2+ years’ experience in modelling & simulation within biotech, pharma, academia, or consultancy
  • Demonstrated experience in PK/PD and/or population modelling
  • Hands-on coding experience (R, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience across both preclinical and clinical development
  • Familiarity with modelling platforms such as GastroPlus, SimCYP, PK-Sim, Monolix, or SimBiology
  • Experience in oncology or complex disease biology
  • Exposure to regulatory documentation or submissions
