Barrington James is partnering with a rapidly growing Quantitative Pharmacology & Data Science CRO to appoint a Senior Pharmacometrician. This organisation partners with biotech and pharma companies to deliver model-informed drug development strategies across discovery, translational, and clinical phases.
This is a high-impact, client-facing role for an experienced modeller with deep expertise in PBPK, PK/PD, and clinical trial modelling, looking to influence decision-making across diverse therapeutic areas.
π¬ The Role
As a senior member of the modelling team, you will lead and deliver complex pharmacometric projects, working at the interface of biology, data science, and clinical strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead development of PBPK, PK/PD, and population PK models to support drug development decisions
β’ Design and execute modelling strategies for clinical trials and translational studies
β’ Analyse and interpret preclinical and clinical datasets, including NCA
β’ Apply modelling to inform dose selection, trial design, and regulatory strategy
β’ Translate complex quantitative outputs into clear, actionable insights for clients
β’ Contribute to regulatory submissions and interactions
β’ Lead client engagements, presentations, and technical reporting
β’ Support business development activities, proposals, and scientific discussions
Requirements
Essential:
β’ PhD (or MSc with significant experience) in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacology, Bioengineering, or a related quantitative discipline
β’ 4β8+ yearsβ experience in pharmacometrics within industry or consultancy
β’ Proven expertise in PBPK modelling and clinical pharmacology
β’ Strong experience developing models to support clinical trial design and analysis
β’ Proficiency in R and industry-standard modelling tools
β’ Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing roles
β’ Eligibility to work in the UK or Europe
Desirable:
β’ Experience with platforms such as GastroPlus, Simcyp, PK-Sim, Monolix, or SimBiology
β’ Background in oncology or complex disease modelling
β’ Experience supporting regulatory filings (e.g., IND, NDA, MAA)
β’ Track record of leading projects or mentoring junior scientists
