The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and grow the trauma orthopedic business across West Japan. This role is responsible for driving revenue, expanding market share, and leading a high-performing sales team across a broad and strategically important territory.
While the role is based in Kansai, you will oversee business activities across the wider West Japan region, partnering with orthopedic surgeons, trauma centers, and hospital stakeholders to drive adoption of advanced trauma solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of trauma sales representatives across West Japan
- Drive achievement of regional sales targets and business objectives
- Develop and execute a regional strategy aligned with market dynamics and growth opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with orthopedic surgeons, trauma specialists, and hospital decision-makers across the region
- Support complex case coverage and key account management, including operating room presence when required
- Identify and develop key opinion leaders (KOLs) and reference centers
- Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, and leadership to execute product launches and growth initiatives
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the orthopedic trauma space
- Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and CRM utilization
- Maintain high standards of compliance with local regulations and company policies
- Drive continuous improvement in team performance, capability, and customer engagement
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Sales Manager in orthopedic trauma
- Strong track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Deep understanding of the trauma orthopedic market and surgical environment
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
- Experience working closely with surgeons in the operating room setting
- Established network within hospitals and trauma centers in West Japan
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capability
- Fluent Japanese
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fracture fixation systems, plates, screws, or related trauma products
- Background in multinational medical device companies
- Experience managing distributors or indirect sales channels
- Demonstrated success in launching new products or expanding into new territories
